There are some simple packing tips that will help you handle the process in a much smoother way, with less frantic rummaging around your boxes and bags.
Here are our simple packing tips for reducing stress when moving to a new condo in Thailand:
-
Pack a three-day bag
When you move, you never know how long it will take you to get everything in the new condo and put away. That means that when you have to go to work the day after a move, you may need to dig through lots of bags and boxes to find a decent outfit to put together. Looking acceptable for work the day after you move is the last thing you should be worried about though, so do yourself a favor and before you pack all of your clothes for the move, set aside a few outfits to hold you older stress-free while you get organized in your new home.
-
Put together a bathroom kit
Keep a bag of essential toiletries aside. Pick up travel-sized bottles of shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothpaste and whatever else you use during your regular grooming routine. You will likely feel rough enough after moving to a new condo without having to also sacrifice your normal shower or cosmetic time the day after your move. You should be able to go to sleep the night after your move and know that when you wake up, you have the materials and products needed the next morning to get started on a new day without a hitch.

Prioritise What You Need to Feel Settled the Fastest
What are the first pieces of furniture or technology you’ll probably want to use first? The bed, to sleep in your first night is an obvious one. Then is it a kitchen table and chairs to have your normal breakfast with the family? Or is it more important that you are able to listen to music while you unpack? If the latter, it’s not silly or unproductive to install your surround sound system before doing anything else. Set yourself up in the priority order that will help you settle in and feel good about your new home in the quickest way possible.
Follow these tips and you will feel much less stress moving into your new condo than ever before. The trick is just to be prepared for the first nights in your new home, and to prioritize what’s important to your personal lifestyle and way of doing things.
