Sansiri’s The Standard prepares to open Hua Hin and Bangkok hotels

The Standard, Hua Hin will welcome its first guests on December 1st of this year

A lot has changed across the hospitality landscape since Thai developer Sansiri began investing in The Standard five years ago. Most recently, the COVID-19 pandemic has brought the tourism sector to a halt. But with the situation likely to improve before year’s end, the brand is ready to launch its first two properties in the Kingdom.

The Standard, Hua Hin is preparing to open on December 1st of this year. With the seaside city expected to reopen to overseas arrivals as soon as October, the hotel is running a number of promotions to welcome visitors back.

This will be the first The Standard property to open in Thailand and it has pulled out all the stops to curate one of Hua Hin’s most memorable resorts. A vibrant, beachfront location and stylish rooms have been paired with signature eateries and an innovative spa program to ensure an experience unlike any other.

But this is only a start. The Standard also announced its flagship hotel in Asia will open early next year inside of the iconic Mahanakhon Building. The 155-room property is bringing a unique ambiance to the Thai capital and will boast a Thailand’s first Mott 32 restaurant in addition to everything else that has made the brand popular across the globe.

Standard International, the parent company of the Standard Hotels, CEO Amar Lalvani admitted that the current situation has made it difficult for hospitality businesses. However, the hotelier is extremely excited to open its two new Thailand properties.

“We are incredibly proud to announce the openings of The Standard, Hua Hin, which is set for December, our incredible Asia flagship, The Standard, Bangkok Mahanakhon, which will open next year, as well as our second property in Europe, The Standard, Ibiza,” Lalvani proclaimed. “This has been a time of unprecedented crisis for the hospitality industry, and the millions of people around the world who work in the sector.
