As many real estate developers come to terms with how the COVID-19 pandemic will impact their business, Proud Real Estate has seamlessly adapted to what the “new normal” requires. The firm has tapped into its background in hospitality to develop resort-style residences designed with maximized privacy and pleasant surroundings.
This skill and expertise are evident at the developer’s newest project, InterContinental Residences Hua Hin. Proud Real Estate has incorporated many features that support both social distancing and the “new normal”.
“The ‘new normal’ is a short-term lifestyle adjustment. The megatrend, however, is more prominent. This megatrend has been going on for a while now, and it has been accelerated by the ‘new normal’,” Khun Proudputh Liptapanlop, Executive Director of Proud Real Estate, explained.
InterContinental Residences Hua Hin boasts more space to ensure maximized privacy. There are only 238 units spread across seven-and-a-half rai with 70 percent of the space dedicated to green areas. Meanwhile, each unit is oversized to best accommodate spending 24-hours a day at home should it be required.
Common area facilities have also been designed with “new normal” practices in mind. These include a working station with garden or beach views, touch security system, face recognition technology and CCTV that can measure body temperature.
Another key highlight of InterContinental Residences Hua Hin is the world-class hotel service residents can enjoy. Concierge service, in-room dining service and grocery service can all help eliminate unnecessary trips in addition to adding convenience. Tenants and owners are also entitled to an array of world-class privileges through IHG Spire Elite membership and lifestyle privileges via Proud Real Estate’s privileges program.

Proud Real Estate sees demand increase in Hua Hin
Another interesting trend to emerge during the COVID-19 pandemic has been the desire of property buyers to own a residence outside of big cities with places like Hua Hin having benefited from the shift. Proud Real Estate noted a few different reasons for the change.
“We’ve seen more and more people fleeing the capital to spend time outside of Bangkok. And Hua Hin is one of the most popular destinations. Owning a condo somewhere outside of Bangkok becomes something people think about, especially when hotels cannot operate. These buyers are our target group,” Kun Proudputh noted.
The InterContinental Residences Hua Hin are located in the heart of the resort town, making it perfectly positioned to take advantage of the change in preferences. The developer revealed the feedback from buyers looking for a second home as they ease into the ‘new normal’ has been overwhelmingly positive.
This is supported by sales figure at the project. Proud Real Estate reported that sales were 10–20 percent prior to the COVID-19 pandemic but have jumped to 40–50 percent during the past month. One reason for the increase in sales has to do with potential buyers seeing the project and how it accommodates the new normal in person. As an increased number of clients visited the site location and project showroom, more made decisions to book their unit in InterContinental Residences Hua Hin.
