Pattaya Boat Show to boast tourism

Ocean Marina Pattaya Boat Show at Ocean Marina

Ocean tourism is expected to grown exponentially as a result of the Ocean Drive Pattaya Boat Show and changes to customs.

Tourism is a key player in the Thai economy and opportunities are grasped to capitalise upon this. Ocean Tourism is anticipated to boom in the Gulf of Thailand thanks to the fifth Ocean Marina Pattaya Boat Show that will be held from the 24 to 27 November at Ocean Marina. With more boats on display than ever before plus the improved custom rulings permitting visiting foreign vessels to stay for a longer duration in the country, it is expected that these factors will become the basis for the growth of marine tourism in and around Pattaya.

“Ocean Marina Pattaya Boat Show has grown steadily since it was launched five years ago. The event is a key business event for the marine industry and in addition to welcoming many domestic visitors each year the event has grown to attract many international visitors also. The confidence that the international community has in this event and Thailand’s burgeoning marine industry underscores its potential and importance to the Thai economy,” said Dr Tirachai Pipitsupaphol, managing director at Ocean Property.

Driving Pattaya as the Riviera of Asia, the Ocean Marina Pattaya Boat Show are welcoming the recent custom changes that will allow Pattaya to become a regional hub for marine tourism. 1,000 international yachts are expected to grace the shores every year thanks to the idyllic setting and attractions Thailand can offer.

“Many people are not aware of the beauty of this region. There are 187 islands in the Gulf of Thailand with 43 within one hour by boat of Ocean Marina itself. The cruising grounds are spectacular and the extended stay allowed for foreign yachts will help open up the region. This is a very positive move”, added Dr. Tirachai.

Over the four-day event international brands will be attending such as Admiral, Azimut Yachts, Beneteau, Cranchi, CNB Yachts, Jeanneau, Lagoon, Monte Carlo Yachts, Prestige, Princess Yachts, Sanlorenzo, Viking Yachts and Wider, showcasing yachts and super yachts. Equipment, lifestyle products and services will also be at the event, plus there is the chance to walk through a boat and take it out for a test drive – a one of a kind event at a show like this.
