Born and raised in Oxford, England, Mark Quinn was a qualified building surveyor in the UK before moving to Thailand 12-years ago. His experiences over the years, both at home and abroad, have provided him with a holistic view of real estate.
Earlier in 2021, Mark brought this mindset to PBRE as it looked to scale up expansion efforts. Joining the agency as its Managing Director, he has overseen the opening of five new offices while continuing to emphasize a service-driven approach.
“Having spent a significant amount of time in the Thailand real estate industry, I’ve seen many different ways of doing business. Seeing what works and what doesn’t allows us to create a better experience for customers,” Mark explains. “One of the biggest misconceptions people have about real estate agencies is that they exist to sell properties. In reality, our job is to provide a service, and that is what guides PBRE’s approach to real estate.”
This manifests itself in the agency’s motto: ‘Discover a New Level of Service’. Mark believes this involves combining skills and knowledge with meaningful connections to create services only PBRE can offer.
“Obviously, there is a lot of competition, so it is important for us to truly deliver something that goes beyond anything else when it comes to experience, industry knowhow, professionalism and a number of other characteristics,” Mark details. “Creating and maintaining relationships with clients is paramount. Having a connection with someone when buying or selling a home allows you to provide the personal touch and really feel what the customer needs, whilst making the whole process as easy as possible.

PBRE balances growth with service
PBRE was founded in 2005 as Pattaya Bay Real Estate. The firm has grown significantly over the years and is now respected as a market leader in addition to being the region’s largest agency. A recent rebranding signified both its top-of-mind status as a company and ambitions to keep growing moving forward.
“Our aim is to continue our expansion and signify to people we cover a larger area than just the Eastern Seaboard and a Bangkok office is on the horizon. For example, we now have six offices and are exploring opportunities to open more,” Mark says. “Of course, this is done while maintaining our emphasis on service. We still have the same customer-focused approach with unmatched local knowledge that ensures an exceptional experience.”
The growth of PBRE in some ways mirrors the growth of Thailand’s Eastern Seaboard. Several notable infrastructure projects, such as the Route 7 motorway linking Chonburi with Bangkok and U-tapao International Airport, are complete with others, including the high-speed rail link between the capital and the Eastern Seaboard, under construction.
“You are seeing a lot of investment in infrastructure across the Eastern Seaboard. Several new developments are also underway,” Marc reports. “There is so much going on right now and the future here is bright. In many ways, this is the perfect time to invest in the area.”
That, of course, is where PBRE comes in. The firm was named as one of Thailand’s Best Real Estate Agencies 2021 at the Dot Property Thailand Awards with its service-driven approach being recognized.
