The long-awaited Le Méridien Suvarnabhumi, Bangkok Golf Resort & Spa on Bangna-Trad Road KM10.5 in Samut Prakarn is set to open on September 1, 2014. Owned by Summit Windmill Corporation and managed by Starwood Hotels and Resorts, the luxury resort features 223 well-appointed guestrooms; several gourmet restaurants; a spa, fitness centre and pool; and Summit Windmill Golf Club, an 18-hole professional golf course designed by British golf champion Nick Faldo.
The Le Méridien brand focuses on art, culture and sensory experiences in an upscale, chic and contemporary setting. The new resort’s target market includes international leisure and business travelers, given its proximity to Suvarnabhumi Airport, as well as well-heeled locals who reside in the sprawling Bangna area. The resort will also seek to attract the MICE market with its expansive meeting and function spaces.
The addition of this resort to the area’s hospitality offerings reflects Bangna’s tremendous infrastructural development in recent years, as well as the boom of upmarket residential projects, especially detached housing developments, in the area.
In addition to golfing and leisure activities, Le Méridien Suvarnabhumi will offer guests easy access to the MEGA Bangna mall, Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Center (BITEC), and the Bangkok Motorway, which connects the city to the Eastern Seaboard, including Chonburi and Rayong provinces.
