Thailand fairs well in Bloomberg’s Misery Index.
Bloomberg has surveyed 74 countries and has concluded that Thailand ranks the lowest on their Misery Index. Thailand is known for consistently having an incredibly low unemployment rate that was recorded as below one percent as of the end of June.
This combined with the minimal rise in cost of goods has resulted in Thailand’s being in pole position for Bloomberg’s findings. Close behind, unsurprisingly for some, followed Singapore, Japan and Switzerland.
Venezula has not faired so well sitting at the bottom of the index. A result of the world slump in oil prices that has had a knock on effect on the rest of the economy leading to shortages in both food and medicine. Bloomberg has classed Venezula as the ‘world’s most miserable’ place.
