Thailand’s Ministry of Social Development and Human Security Ministry (MSDHS) has initially agreed that housing development for disabled and elderly citizens, along with human trafficking suppression, will be urgent policies of the ministry in 2016.
MSDHS minister Pol General Adul Saengsingkaew (pictured) agreed that the missions for the next fiscal year at a recent high-level meeting of officials in the ministry.
Other important issues under focus for the MSDHS in the next fiscal year will be domestic violence, preparations for an aging society, development of quality of life of children and youth as well as providing universal access to state services.
As for the continuing policy of ministerial reform and development, Police General Adul said he placed emphasis on efficiency enhancement of personnel at all levels, creating social database, and raising public awareness of the ministry’s work.
Police General Adul added the ministry is urgently compiling opinions from government authorities, private sectors and civil society for use in the drafting of its policy for 2016. The final policy will be announced during mid-October.
