The Silom and Rama IV Road intersection is a hub of activity at the moment. Work continues on the impressive Dusit Central Park while Chulalongkorn Hospital is carrying out renovation efforts. Activity has also been happening on a third corner with Frasers Property Thailand unveiling plans for a ‘Sandbox Community’ mixed-use project at this site.
Silom Edge is a THB1.8 billion redevelopment of an existing building that will rethink traditional offices. This is Frasers Property Thailand’s first redevelopment project and its third major commercial center along Rama IV Road.
“We saw a great opportunity to redevelop the property on the prime corner of Silom road. Located in the core of Bangkok’s Central Business District, it can be accessed by both BTS and MRT. Silom is undeniably one of Thailand’s most important business districts where leading companies are located. FPT made a strategic decision to acquire and transform an existing property in the area into a mixed-use complex,” Khun Thanapol Sirithanachai, the Country CEO of Frasers Property Thailand, explained in a press release.
He continued, “Aligning with FPT’s sustainable growth strategy, the project is set to enhance the portfolio through diversification and recurring income generation. The revenue is expected to be recognized in the last quarter of next year”
The developer’s concept for Silom Edge is to create a ‘Sandbox Community in CBD’. Its goal is to appeal to digital entrepreneurs and startups through several unique features. These include space & contract as a service, extended operation hours and cryptocurrency and cashless payments among others.
According to Frasers Property Thailand, Silom Edge is 65 percent complete and will open in September of next year.
Frasers Property Thailand focuses on Rama IV Road
Silom Edge will join Samyan Mitrtown and The PARQ as major commercial developments that Frasers Property Thailand has worked on along Rama IV Road. The latter won the Special Recognition Award for Green Innovation at the Dot Property Thailand Awards 2020.
Frasers Property Thailand has an interest in One Bangkok, the country’s largest integrated district which is also located along Rama IV Road.
