Café del Mar Pattaya and more new leisure centres set to revamp the Eastern Seaboard

Café del Mar Pattaya opens in September

Pattaya is still known for its raunchy nightlife and despite repeated attempts to change this, the bars and clubs don’t seem to be going anywhere. However, there are numerous places, such as Café del Mar Pattaya, springing up beyond Walking Street that are broadening the city’s appeal.

The reason for this is necessity. According to the Mastercard Asia Pacific Destinations Index 2017, Pattaya welcomed the eighth most international overnight arrivals in the Asia-Pacific region, finishing just behind Hong Kong. These days Chinese, Korean and German guests are visiting the city in droves and are looking for different types of activities.

Terminal 21 Pattaya

Terminal 21 Pattaya is expected to have the same charm as its Bangkok namesake. It will likely be just as popular with tourists thanks to a range of shopping and dining options that are geared more towards visitors than Pattaya’s other shopping complexes.

A 25-storey Grand Centre Point Hotel is connected to the shopping centre that is located near the Pattaya Dolphin roundabout at the north end of Beach Road. The mall and hotel are expected to be fully open in October.

Chee Chan Golf Resort

The highly anticipated Chee Chan Golf Resort is set to welcome golfers for the first rounds sometime in the third quarter of this year. Located in Silverlake, a 30-minute drive away from the Pattaya city centre, the course’s most notable feature is the Khao Chee Chan Buddha. The Buddha has been carved in stone in a nearby hill and looks out over most of the course.

A couple of golf’s most trusted names are playing a big role in the resort’s development. Golfplan is behind the design while IMG will be in charge of managing the course once is operational.
