Although there was no change in the top eight locations of visitors to Thailand-Property.com between September 2015 and last month, there were several notable movements in the top 20 countries that visitors to Thailand’s number one English language property website were coming from during October.
While around one-in-three visitors were Thailand-based expatriates or Thais searching for property to buy, rent and sell using the leading English property website in Thailand, the most notable jump in visitors came from Denmark which saw the country jump from 20th place in September to 10th in October – and more than doubled its share of the number of visitors to the website in the process.
There was also a rise in visitors from neighbouring Malaysia, and also from Russia, but none were as strong or as significant as those from Denmark.
Dot Property Group asked Danish real estate agent Marck Christiansen, co-owner of 2nd Home Real Estate Agency in Hua Hin for his interpretation of the data.
He said: “It is pretty normal for us to see an increase in interest from Danes, starting from the end of August, for rentals and also for property purchases towards the end of the year.
“For sure, the weak Thai baht makes investing in Thailand interesting, and tax changes in Denmark mean it’s getting more difficult for Danish nationals to invest overseas.”
Visitors to Thailand-Property.com during October 2015 came from 178 countries around the world.
