Ascott welcomes a string of new units to Thailand and across the world.
The Ascott Limited have announced a record year for 2016. The worldwide brand of serviced residences opened 18 properties across Thailand in Bangkok, Pattaya and Sri Racha. Boasting its portfolio by an additional 3,000 units.
Jean Keijdener, Ascott’s country general manager for Thailand, commented, “In 2016 Ascott’s growth in terms of property number is pretty steady and well planned. We have opened Metropole Bangkok – Asia’s first unique luxury serviced residence under The Crest Collection and also launched the first phase of Somerset Ekamai Bangkok which is Ascott’s first mixed-use development in Thailand. Besides that, we have clinched a management contract for The Park at EM District Managed by The Ascott Limited, the upscale Bangkok’s serviced residence in the highly sought-after Sukhumvit soi 24. Our company also managed to sustain stability in occupancy rates especially amongst long-stay business which is our main target audience.”
Aside from Ascott’s success in Thailand, the company has continued their expansion across the globe. Welcoming 10,000 new units in 2016 alone has made it Ascott’s biggest rise in inventory in one year to date. This theme is set to continue with 30 more properties being opened in 2017.
For Thailand, Ascott will for focusing on the Eastern Seaboard. Encompassing the provinces of Rayong, Chonburi, Chachoengsao and Samut Prakan, the Eastern Seaboard hold significance being the centre of Thailand’s export and manufacture industries. Outside of this area, Ascott will be look for other locations of potential growth. There are currently four properties in the pipeline, Citadines Jomtien Beach Pattaya, Citadines North Pattaya, Somerset Maison Asoke Bangkok and Somerset Habourview Sri Racha.
This will help Ascott to maintain its title as the largest international serviced residence owner-operator in Thailand. All locations are carefully chosen by Ascott to offer convenience to business and entertainment areas appealing to expatriates, business and leisure travellers.
