Last week we reported that property in Thailand was ranked as being the best in the world by the influential HSBC 2015 Expat Explorer survey.
Property was ranked in the ‘experience’ section of the survey, and taking other factors into account Thailand was placed 21st of the 39 survey countries.
Now, according to a statement from HSBC, we can reveal that Thailand was ranked first for accommodation because it was the best performer for the question about ease of finding accommodation. Thailand’s score of 71 percent was the highest of all 39 countries included in the survey.
Another accommodation question in the survey asked expatriates whether the cost of accommodation has increased or decreased since moving abroad. HSBC said that some 66 percent of expatriates in Thailand said they now spend less on accommodation since moving abroad (compared with a global average of 29 percent).
Clearly this indicates Thailand property and real estate offers exceptional value for money compared with other global destinations, and could well be an influential factor when companies decide where to locate their Asian-based staff.
The property aspect of this survey should be used by anyone involved in property and real estate in Thailand to promote the Kingdom as a solid, value for money investment and place to live.
