Bangkok is a big place, and for those looking to buy or invest in prime property and real estate it can be quite a daunting adventure. There are a number of locations through Bangkok that are considered to be hot property spots and the landscape is literally littered with high-end residential plots and plush projects that all offer the best in top living experiences.
Here, real estate firm CBRE Thailand shines its spotlights on four places in Bangkok where luxury is the norm, not the exception.
Riverside
Soon to be home to the illustrious Four Seasons development, the first of its kind waterside project in Asia, the banks of the Chao Phraya River (pictured) is one of the most sought after property locations in Bangkok. Located in the South of the metropolis, it is already home to a number of residential properties. The area is thriving and is also one of the most scenic parts of Bangkok. There are a number of striking temples and palaces, as well as historical landmarks, luxury hotels and residential properties. The area has retained its unique identity in an era of intense development, with many traditional Thai practices and events still on show.
Central Business District (CBD)
The central business district of Bangkok is an undefined area in the centre of the city which encases the Sukhumvit district, among others. It is home to numerous high-end property developments of multiple use, including the MahaNakhon skyscraper which houses the Ritz-Carlton Residences – one of the city’s most extravagant living quarters. The luxury skyscraper boasts spacious living units and breath-taking scenery in the Southeast of Bangkok. The Met is another example of an opulent skyscraper, offering the most in luxury and sophistication in the middle of the bustling city.
Sukhumvit
This exclusive district situated to the East of Bangkok is awash with luxury condos, fancy apartments, lavish villas and all the accompanying commercial attractions to go alongside. The area boasts a number of popular restaurants, salubrious bars and fashionable clubs, and is a home from home for many foreign visitors and expatritaes. Sukhumvit Road is the longest boulevard in Thailand, and one of the longest in the world, One fact many people don’t know is that it runs most of the way to the Cambodian border to the East. The area is well serviced by public transport, including the Skytrain which has increased the district’s popularity immeasurably. There are also multiple museums, parks, shopping malls and spas in the area. The district is the hub of cosmopolitanism Bangkok and hosts some of the city’s most sinful spots for the naughtier visitors and residents. Just south of the area is Khlong Toei, a much more understated market and port town – also very popular with visitors.
Lumphini Park
This area is a sub-district of the central business district, and one which has caused some to draw parallels between it and New York City living. The park, which is often described as the one green lung in Bangkok, has attracted an increasing number of developers and architects – all of whom are trying to emulate The Big Apple’s successes in created residential properties that offer the best of city living with that all important spacious suburban feel. The park’s rare open spaces provide a sanctuary in the middle of city living, with a manmade lake and plenty of space for joggers and cyclists to enjoy its 142 acres. It is full of beautiful flora and fauna and wildlife, including more than 30 species of bird for birdwatchers to enjoy.
