3 facts about Thailand’s top condo

One of the surprise winners at yesterday’s 10th annual Thailand Property Awards was arguably in the “Best Luxury Condo Development (Bangkok)” category where Ivy Ampio, a 29-storey development by listed property developer Pruksa Real Estate walked away with the award.

Equally surprising was the fact that Ivy Ampio also won the “Best Condo (Thailand)” accolade and now goes forward to represent Thailand at the South East Asia Property Awards in Singapore next month.

The saying “you’ve got to be in it to win it” has never been more apt for this project, with numerous potential winning luxury developments happening throughout Thailand. However throughout the ten year history of the Thailand Property Awards its clear that some developers do seem reluctant to nominate and enter their projects, possibly out of the fear of not been seen as a winner in the eyes of what is an independent and esteemed judging committee.

Here are three facts that you may not know about what is now officially Thailand’s best condominium.

Location: Ivy Ampio is located on Ratchadapisek Road in Bangkok, close to the mass-transit MRT underground system at Thailand Cultural Centre station. The area is seen by many as the next central business district for the Thai capital, with the Stock Exchange of Thailand soon moving to a new location close by.

Units: In total there are 289 units in four types. “Leon” studios are between 30 sqm and 33 sqm, “Geneve” one-bedroom units are 42 sqm, “Lexington” two-bedroom offerings are 77 sqm while the “Monte Carlo” duplex units are 114 sqm in size.

Prices: The project is 100 percent completed and only eight units are left for sale from the developer. Prices range between THB 130,000 per sqm and THB 160,000 per sqm depending on the type and location of the unit.
